Intermediate Road Cycling Class

Target Audience:

Individuals aged 10 and above who have previously participated in the "Beginner Road Cycling Class" or have passed an assessment by our coaches and are interested in road cycling.

Course Objectives:

Enhance road cycling skills and build a solid foundation for endurance training. Further learn emergency bicycle repairs and handling techniques. Apply methods and techniques for high-speed pedaling, physical training, and teamwork coordination in cycling.

Course Content:

Each class lasts for 1 hour and 30 minutes. The intermediate road cycling class includes:

  1. Cycling Techniques

    • Posture Adjustment: Learn the correct riding posture to reduce fatigue and improve efficiency.

    • Turning Techniques: Practice quick turns and stability, especially during descents.

    • Climbing Techniques: Teach how to maintain a steady cadence and speed while climbing.

  2. Endurance Training

    • Long-Distance Riding: Gradually increase the distance of each ride, aiming for 2-4 hours of continuous riding.

    • Interval Training: Perform short bursts of high-intensity sprints on flat sections, then return to normal speed.

    • Group Riding: Train with other cyclists to simulate race conditions.

  3. Bicycle Maintenance

    • Basic Repairs: Learn how to adjust gears, check brakes, and clean the chain.

    • Tire Checks: Regularly check tire pressure and wear to ensure safe riding.

  4. Safety Knowledge

    • Traffic Rules: Understand the traffic regulations that must be followed while cycling.

    • Safety Gear: Emphasize the importance of wearing helmets, reflective vests, and other safety equipment.

  5. Teamwork

    • Team Riding: Learn how to ride in formation, coordinating speed and direction.

    • Wind Resistance Control: Learn how to use formations to reduce wind resistance and improve riding efficiency.

Class Location:

Tsuen Wan Bicycle Path / Roads (depending on the situation)

Bicycle and Helmet Equipment:

The fee includes the use of a bicycle and helmet during the class.

Student-Teacher Ratio:

1:8

Fees:

$1400 for 4 classes; $400 per individual class

Schedule:

  • Saturday: 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM

  • Sunday: 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM
